Lip Area & Contour: 3 Tips to Avoid Accelerated Aging

The lips are often neglected in skin care regimes. They don’t require a lot of care, but can be a dead giveaway of how old or young a person is. Here are 2 very useful tips for you to do at home to maintain healthy looking lips, and 1 that requires help from a professional skin therapist:

1. Hydration is key: Drink lots of water. When you keep yourself hydrated, your skin will stay hydrated as well. This will avoid getting dehydrated skin which is more prone to flimsiness and wrinkles.

2.Protect them from the weather: This is one big factor that can influence the health of your lips. Whether it’s in the middle of warm Summer time or harsh cold Winter time, you’ll want to protect the area from getting either a sunburn or a frostbite. In the warmer temperatures, don’t forget to put on SPF and in the winter, protect your lips with a shea butter lip balm or something that will put up a “protecting barrier”.

3. Get a lip treatment: This one will require help from a professional skin therapist. We’re not talking about lip injections here, but about a facial treatment targeted on your lip area. Yes, there is such a thing! The skin care therapist has access to advanced technology, active ingredients, and of course professional knowledge and experience. If you’re at the point where you feel like the home remedies aren’t enough, seek help from our professionals!
